Please join the Kings Water Alliance (KWA) for a Hybrid Community Engagement Event in Selma or online on our Management Zone Implementation Plan (MZIP). The MZIP will guide community outreach and engagement activities and an implementation schedule that will ensure safe drinking water for those dependent on private groundwater wells exceeding the nitrate drinking water standard, as required by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board’s Nitrate Control Program.

What is the MZIP?
The MZIP is a comprehensive plan that includes the characterization of nitrates in groundwater, Emergency & Interim Drinking Water Program, Interim and Long-Term Drinking Water Solutions Workplan, Nitrate Reduction Program, aquifer restoration program, Surveillance and Monitoring Program, outreach and engagement, and implementation phasing. The focus of the Interim and Long-Term Drinking Water Solutions are rural residential wells in the KWA Priority 1 area as shown in the KWA Interactive map: https://kingswateralliance.org/map/.

About the Kings Water Alliance:
The Kings Water Alliance is a non-profit that offers free well testing and short-term drinking water solutions (home bottled water delivery) to nitrate impacted residents in portions of Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties as part of the requirements of the Nitrate Control Program (NCP). The Central Valley Water Board (Water Board) sent out notices to comply for the NCP in May 2020.
