Three fill station locations are now accessible throughout the Kings Water Alliance. Bring an empty container to a fill station and take safe, accessible, free drinking water back to your home. Containers must be 5 gallons or less. There is no limit on the number of containers you may fill. The Kings River Water Quality Coalition, a Coalition of agricultural producers, is providing this free drinking water to domestic well users in an effort to mitigate groundwater quality concerns.

A water fill station is a vending machine or kiosk that provides drinking water at no cost. The water supply is provided from a municipal water supply that is safe according to federal and state regulations, including the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The fill station water is not filtered or purified beyond the municipality compliant supply. Residual sand and sediment have been screened.

The water fill stations are operated with a "pulse" button. They are equipped to fill sports bottles, or 1, 3, and 5 gallon containers.

Cleaning and sanitizing water containers

For your safety, use only clean containers intended for drinking water. Containers used for milk, juice, or any other substance should not be used for water intended for human consumption.

Follow the steps below to clean and sanitize water storage containers prior to filling with drinking water.

  1.  Wash the storage container and rinse completely with water.
  2. Sanitize a 5-gallon container with a solution made by mixing 1 teaspoon of unscented liquid household chlorine bleach in one quart of water.
  3. Cover the container tightly and shake it well. Make sure the sanitizing bleach solutions touches all inside surfaces of the container.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds and then pour the sanitizing solutions out of the container.
  5. Let the empty sanitized container air-dry before use OR rinse the empty container with already available clean, safe water.
  6. Dispense clean water into the sanitized container and cover with a tight lid.
