Your Voice Can Make a Difference

We need your help finding the best ways to provide safe drinking water to you and your neighbors.

Across areas of Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties, 2 in 5 private residentials wells may contain unhealthy levels of a contaminant called Nitrate. If your household relies on a private well for drinking water and is in the Kings Water Alliance service area, you are eligible for free Nitrate testing to make sure your well water is safe. If it is not, Kings Water Alliance will work to get you access to safe drinking water in a way that works best for you.

Why your survey response is important: Because this is about YOUR drinking water and ensuring it is safe. By sharing your experience, you can help us understand the current conditions of drinking water in your home and what solutions might work best for your community.

Your responses will help: Determine if the drinking water in your home is impacted by high levels of Nitrate and help us develop and implement the most effective ways for you to access clean drinking water that fits your needs.

Why you should know the Nitrate level in your well water: Nitrate is odorless, colorless, tasteless, and can’t be boiled out of water.  Its health effects include reducing red blood cells’ ability to carry oxygen, and most at risk are babies, pregnant women, and the elderly. Nitrate can come from leaky septic tanks, animal waste, fertilizers, industrial and manufacturing facilities, municipal wastewater treatment plants, and it is also naturally occurring in soil.

The Kings Water Alliance is here to serve your community.
We exist to ensure the water you drink is safe, and if it is not, to get you access to clean drinking water.
