On September 5, 2023, the the Kings Water Alliance is submitted the Management Zone Implementation Plan (MZIP). The MZIP is the latest deliverable for the Nitrate Control Program. The MZIP is a comprehensive plan that includes the characterization of nitrates in groundwater, Emergency & Interim Drinking Water Program, Interim and Long-Term Drinking Water Solutions Workplan, Nitrate Reduction Program, aquifer restoration program, Surveillance and Monitoring Program, outreach and engagement, and implementation phasing. The focus of the Interim and Long-Term Drinking Water Solutions are rural residential wells in the KWA Priority 1 area as shown in the KWA Interactive Map.
